Given Scott’s over 15 years of experience on a broad variety of transactional matters, he is a natural fit with the firm’s transactional practice. He began his legal career in 2010 at Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP (formerly Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P), where his areas of practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities issuances in the public and private markets, and related corporate and governance work primarily in the energy sector. After 7 years of practice, he joined Chevron Phillips Chemical Company as Commercial Counsel, where for over 6 years, he provided commercial counsel for its specialty chemicals divisions and, later, as Senior Corporate Counsel advising on financing and credit-related matters in connection with its global subsidiaries with an emphasis on treasury, tax, project finance, and real estate matters while also managing outside counsel relationships. Scott is adept at handling general corporate matters and transactions for a variety of sizes of companies ranging from multi-billion-dollar public enterprises to single-member entities. Scott also has extensive real estate business experience as a real estate investor and real estate agent.
Scott attended law school at The University of Texas School of Law, graduating with honors in 2009. Prior to earing his Juris Doctor degree, he completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Computer Science and graduating in 2002 summa cum laude with the conferral of a Bachelor of Science Degree. He resides in The Woodlands, Texas with his family and enjoys running and all manner of outdoor activities.
